A new cleaner’s bonus, agreed upon in collective agreements SGS and SA in the general market this March, came into force at the beginning of August. This means that with the salary which was paid at the end of August or at the beginning of September, cleaners should had received an additional payment.
The cleaner´s bonus shall be paid monthly and is calculated in proportion to the employment ratio which is 19 500 ISK for a full-time work. The cleaner’s bonus is not part of the basic salary and does not increase hourly wages, shift bonuses, or overtime pay.

Union members hired in cleaning companies are encouraged to keep an eye on their pay slips and ensure that the bonus has been paid.
